The enemy of loneliness can sneak in the back door like an old friend and make himself at home at my table. Especially now that my children are mostly grown. What used to be so familiar — endless loads of laundry, at least ten pair of shoes piled up at the front door, the kitchen sink full with plastic cups and cereal bowls…
These days our home is quiet, offering space and time for my mind to wander. It’s tempting to scroll mindlessly through social media or binge watch Netflix. But most of the time that only leads to more feelings of emptiness.
On day 7 Let’s be aware of what we’re allowing at our table and consciously choose the One who causes our cups to overflow with goodness and mercy. — Carly
