I sought the Lord, and He answered me; He delivered me from all my fears.
Those who look to Him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame.
Psalm 34:4-5
About 18 years ago my pastor wrote this verse to me in an encouraging note saying that 2003 would be the year our ship would turn a corner and sail into a different direction.
In this particular season I had just given birth to our youngest child, meaning we had 4 children 5 and under. My husband and I were every kind of exhausted you could think of! He worked 60-70 hour weeks, while I stayed home to care for our children. The fear that I couldn’t provide for everyone’s needs was crushing at times.
So needless to say I held onto my pastors words, confessing them day and night. To this day I am grateful for the people in our life who reached out to offer a helping hand, an encouraging word, a timely prayer…
On day 8 I’m paying it forward and looking for opportunities to answer someone else’s “SOS”. Most likely that will require sacrificing my own agenda. I pray I’ll be sensitive to my surroundings and respond swiftly.
Let’s do this together.— Carly
