Open the Grace {Day Twenty-Five} 40 Gifts for 40 Days

Luke 4:1-4

Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, left the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, where for forty days he was tempted by the devil. He ate nothing during those days, and at the end of them he was hungry.

The devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread.”

Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone.’

Today’s Gift of Grace is Holy Determination

Open the Grace {Day Twenty-Five} 40 Gifts for 40 Days

Lord, You chose the hard way.

As we look to You—our souls find strength to endure..

To deny our flesh with all its whims & desire.

Help us to draw courage from Your example.

May we be filled with Holy Determination to walk through the wilderness seasons of our lives.

Trusting you’ve gone ahead of us— preparing the way.

“Endurance is not just the ability to bear a hard thing, but to turn it into glory.”

― Philip Yancey, Disappointment with God: Three Questions No One Asks Aloud

In what ways can we apply what Jesus experienced during those 40 days to the wilderness seasons of our lives?
